Horseshoe Pony Club

Pony Club

From The Begining To The End

Pony Club was founded in Stoneleigh, England in 1929 and is now a world-wide volunteer-run, non-profit organization. Canadian Pony Club is a national organization, with around 3,500 members from Prince Edward Island to British Columbia. The Pony Club is represented in over 18 countries with a worldwide membership exceeding more than 110,450, making it the largest association of young riders in the world.

Horseshoe Pony Club of the Central Ontario Region has been in operation since November 2010. Our branch is based in Simcoe County and draws members from Orillia, Midhurst, Hillsdale, Horseshoe Valley, Moonstone, Coldwater, Oro-Medonte, Waubaushene and Stayner.  Our club is not centered around one barn or stable, but includes members who either live on farms, board their ponies/horses at local riding facilities and/or take part in weekly riding lessons.

Pony Club is for young people, between age 5 and 25, who want to learn more about horse and ponies. Pony Club has a series of rating level for both riding skills and horse management and our members work their way up the ratings while learning about horse care and improving their riding skills. Our motto is "Loyalty, Character, Sportsmanship", and we believe that we instill these values into our members.

The objectives of The Pony Club are:

Our club meets several times a month and we provide our members with both riding and non-riding equine related activities. We have activities on several levels: the Branch, which is your local club, the Region COR (Central Ontario Region) , and National which includes the whole country.

Horseshoe Pony's official branch colours are brown with baby blue and white.
